星星其实本身就是个谎言。我们晚上看到的见到的点点繁星,其实是某些也许早已消失的古老天体许久之前反射的光。即便如此,我们还是会凝望星空,告诉自己星星饱含真理,诉说人类自身的奥秘。天体物理学家CarlSagan曾经写到“宇宙就在我们内心,我们本身就是某种星体物质所构成,而我们自己也是宇宙了解其本身的一种方式。”

再没有比梵高更痴迷于星星奥秘的艺术家了。这位荷兰后印象派画家年11月的时候在一封自责信中写到“我曾经走上迷途,试图触摸星辰,但是他们太过浩瀚,又一次的失败,我已经厌倦了”。梵高这是在责备自己---五个月前梵高在法国南部的圣保罗精神病院休养,这个精神病院就是那年冬天他承认自己精神崩溃之后一直待的地方。就在那时,他创作了一副自己认为‘一无是处’的画,他这是在指责自己画的这幅画。

当我看到这一系列由马来西亚摄影师GreyChow拍摄的东南亚壮丽星空组图时,梵高对自己呈现出的非凡视觉盛宴的不喜再次启发了我。同《星空》一样,这些照片非常吸引人,它们都是用扭曲的线条来表现我们实际观察到的宇宙。Chow的作品中,最令人惊奇的是一张拍摄位于印尼瓜哇岛东部的Bromo火山上的星空图,摄影师将这副作品命名为《流动的时间》。
